Morpeth
Hockey Club is situated North Of Newcastle Upon Tyne and is an
active multi sport Club with Top Class Facilities.Situated within
the grounds of Longhirst Hall it is the ideal location to enjoy
the many activities offered.
The Hockey
club has two sections, Men's and Ladies. The Hockey club is a
section within Morpeth Cricket Hockey and Tennis Club. The clubhouse
is situated close to the sports facilities and provides a warm,
friendly atmosphere.Changing facilities for all sports are provided
and bookings for the Astro Turf pitch is managed by the friendly
staff.
The bar offers
food on a daily basis and can provide a buffet for any occasion.
With a panoramic view of the facilities,the club house is the
ideal location to enjoy a
refreshment
or a light snack either before or after a game. The clubhouse
is open to the general public.
Morpeth Cricket
Hockey and Tennis Club began life as seperate Sections and at
different times. Cricket were formed first in 1850 and eventually
some members branched out into Tennis and so Cricket and Tennis
flourished side by side at the clubs grounds at Stobhill just
on the edge of Morpeth Town centre In 1922 some intrepid Morpethians
formed a Mens Hockey Team and were playing their games on a farm
meadow between Morpeth and The village of Pegswood.
The first
mention of Ladies Hockey appears in the record books in 1928.
The Hockey teams began to hire the cricket pitch for matches and
were fully absorbed into the Cricket & Tennis Club in 1948.
The Club played their last match at Stobhill in September 1994
and moved to their present location in October of the same year

From
the A1:- Approximately 3 miles North of Morpeth, take the turn
off for Hebron.Travel through Village and follow road to T- Juction.
Turn Left onto the B1337 and follow road. Approximately 1.5 miles
and on your left is Longhirst Campus. Upon entering Campus turn
left to Morpeth Cricket, Hockey and Tennis Club. Please click
