Morpeth Men's 1st Team

Congratulations must go to Morpeth Men's 1st team who have clinched the Division 2 League Title and are now promoted to Division 1. After losing only 1 game all season, Morpeth clinched the title with 2 games remaining. Below are some photo's from their final game against North Shields which they won 2-1.

Double National Success for North East Hockey
North East Hockey enjoyed double success at England Hockey's Awards Night, held in Nottingham on Saturday 19th June.

Morpeth Hockey Club were presented with Club of the Season and Adrian Starr won Club Umpire of the year.

Morpeth Hockey Club have had a successful year on the pitch, with both their Men's 1st Team and Ladies 1st Team winning their respective leagues. The ladies also enjoyed winning a regional cup.

Morpeth Hockey Club have a thriving Junior section, which was highlighted at the awards ceremony. The club are delighted to receive this accolade and all members should be proud of this achievement.

Up against National competition, Morpeth outshone their rivals to scoop this prestigious award.

The award was present to Martyn Bott (Men's Hockey Chairman and Will Mclean (Men's Club Captain).

Newcastle based Umpire, Adrian Starr enjoyed individual success at the awards ceremony, winning the Club Umpire of the year award. Adrian has been umpiring since 1987 and has only recently retired.

Adrian is a well known and popular umpire on the North East circuit. The award is in recognition of his dedication to the sport of Hockey.
